This place never lets you down and best rootbeer anywhere I've been

DO NOT eat here if you want good customer service or to receive the food you order. The person taking the orders does not know their own menu, and will screw up the simplest of an order.Also, DO NOT come here if you are in a hurry. DO NOT expect have your problem resolved if they screw it up. No offer of a refund, or an apology, just a dramatic order taker who acted like my issue wasn’t a big deal, followed by the cook verbally expressing his irritation as he offered to remake my order, which I didn’t have time for. I threw my food in their garbage can and left. I’m headed to find food somewhere else right now, and I will never be back here. It’s very irritating that I spent money on food that went straight into the garbage. It’s crazy to think a place like this can stay in business when they treat people this way.

First visit of the year! The chili chese fries never disappoint & the rootbeer was as creamy as ever.

There Italian beef meat was dry and had chees was just on top and not even melted,,,,,,, I could have and should have just stayed home and made one my self n it would have tasted better ,,,, I bet I can make it better and sell it 4 chapter to,,,,, but there rootbeer floats are fire,,,,

I wish they served them in Arizona. I sure do miss them. It's a must stop for when we visit family back home. Great service with unbelievable delicious hotdogs that are very inexpensive! 👍😋

Solid food and hot dogs. Only problem is our food was much saltier than expected. Still recommend going here if you stop by Kankakee.

Well I was misinformed by a Ryan Clayton bc there are no fried green tomatoes here but all the food is beyond good definitely worth the trip in my opinion. This place ALWAYS reminds me of my grandmothers and always will. I will be posting photos as soon as the deliciousness is all done.

Jaenicke's has consistently been a classic Drive-In Root Beer and Hot Dog Stand since I first discovered it when I was 7 years old (56 years ago), and I'm sure much longer. Great Food. Treat yourself to a tasty experience.

Friendly staff and tasty, fresh food. Nice variety of sides, including many different fries.. loved the salt and vinegar fries! They do not offer a red sauce, just their chili sauce, which is sweet. Paired well with the meatball sandwich! They also take credit cards now

Food is great. Everything is always fresh. Staff is friendly and work quickly to take your order. Root beer is very good.

Root beer float, fried green tomatoes and mini corndogs were excellent. They also serve real cheese with their nachos. Too bad theyre not open during the colder months.

Jaenicke's is the BEST hot dog and root beer stand. Their red hot sauce makes for a unique, yummy hot dog. Pair with a root beer and the atomic fries for a glutinous, but oh so worth it, treat. I also love the authentic feel of the root beer stand as it's preserved it's architectural roots.

This place has been here for over two decades.There is only a few places that sell the green river and this is one. Grab a quick bite to eat and be on your way.

Classic old school drive in. Their own brand root-beer and you have to try the sauce buns with cheese! Just the bomb!

I am from Chicago and once you say no cucumbers the Chicago Style Hotdogs are the best I have tasted in the area.

Consistently good, over decades. Their rootbeer is the BEST! Now takes credit cards! Get a classic combo: a red hot with cheese, (chili meat) sauce, & onion, a saucebun with cheese, sauce, and onion (no hot dog), & a rootbeer.You're all set!

The Best Hot Dog joint within 90 minutes of Chicago. Worth the drive for Chicagoans; also it is a big stop for all Bears fans heading down to Bourbonnais for Training Camp. It is literally a 2 minute drive from Olive Nazerene!

My 12 year old daughter and I are on a quest to try the best root beer in Illinois, so naturally we had to stop by Jaenicke’s. We were not disappointed; the root beer is awesome. It was cash only though when we went, which was a little embarrassing when we had to borrow money from our 9 year old to pay. But that has since changed.

Disappointed. So many people told us that we had to try this place. I think Sonic has a better Chicago dog. The wings were pretty good. The lady at the window was rude and not one that needs to be in customer service.
